Gloria M. Rodríguez (www.gloriarodriguezauthor.com) is the Founder and Director of the DeAlmas Women’s Collective, a community-based organization launched in 1998. Literally meaning, “of the soul”-DeAlmas is dedicated to providing women of color the opportunity to reclaim and honor their divine feminine gifts through spiritual and personal transformation.
DeAlmas is an outgrowth of a research project Ms. Rodríguez conducted while in graduate school that evaluated the impact of psycho-spiritual and healing work on U.S. born, Latina professionals. Soon thereafter, she determined that other women were in need of this organizational forum and created a multi-cultural platform for activities designed to strengthen and build capacity for female empowerment as a foundation for social change and global healing.
A psycho-spiritual counselor, facilitator and lecturer, Ms. Rodríguez leads DeAlmas’ workshops and retreats at public and private spaces throughout the year within the New York tri-state area and beyond.
Ms. Rodríguez has presented workshops and delivered keynote addresses and lectures at major colleges and universities, including: Columbia, Barnard, NYU, Dartmouth, Wesleyan, St. Johns, Trinity College and The City University of New York.
